Hats

Materials You Need: Various hats; Bandanas or head ties; Soft surface.

What You Can Do Together: A one-month-old baby can see objects and faces up to 90 centimetres away. Her/his primary interest is to explore the world to get to know it. With this activity, your little one will practice recognizing familiar faces.

Before starting, you should prepare the place where they will play and all the materials you will use.

You should first place the baby in a chair or lay her/him down on a soft surface. Afterwards, choose different hats to wear, but before putting on the hat, stare at your baby and try to get her/his attention. A few words of affection or a song are a perfect way to do this. Now that you have her/his attention, it's time to put your hat on.

As you try on the different hats, you can say:

Hats, hats (shakes head back and forth)

(mom, dad, person's name) has a hat.

(The same person) loves (baby's name) when he puts on his hat.

What Your Child is Learning: This fun game will help your little one to recognize your face, stimulate her/his eyesight and motivate her/him to explore environment.
