How to choose a baby skin care product

Gentle, soft, sensitive, fragrant... a baby's skin is a natural barrier, so it requires special hygiene and care.

The wide offer of different baby skin care products often confuses parents as to which one is the best for their baby.

No creams or lotions should be applied to healthy baby skin, except for the diaper region. With each additional application, you disrupt the skin's natural adaptation to the external environment.

Creams for the diaper region should be water-based (lat. emolliens - softening), without allergens, softening and conducive to moisture retention in the skin. Instead of baths and soaps, special products are recommended for bathing - syndets, hard soaps that do not irritate the baby's skin and do not remove the protective hydrolipid layer.

A syndet is a soap "without soap". It is a synthetic detergent and is much milder than soap. Its pH value is neutral, gentle, cleanses the skin just as well as soaps. Syndets can be solid (for washing the hands and face) or liquid (for washing the body); they also preserve the natural acidic skin envelope, which has a preventive effect on bacterial growth. They are gentle on the skin, do not close pores and do not irritate the skin.

You can also use baby micellar water for wiping; it gently cleanses babies' and children's sensitive skin, face, eyes, hands, skin folds and diaper regions. It softens the skin of newborns and children. It has good dermatological and ophthalmological tolerability. It is free of parabens, phthalates and phenoxyethanol, soap and dyes. It is applied to the skin with a cotton pad, no rinsing is required. All micellar water ingredients are over 98% of natural origin.

Baby bath products should not be used more than 2-3 times a week, in accordance with the "as briefly and as little as possible" principle.
