Let’s Fish

Materials You Need: Your little one's toy like a doll, a teddy bear, etc. (not too heavy); rope or wool; masking tape/scotch tape; blanket.

What You Can Do Together: To start this activity, prepare the materials to be used in advance. Tie one end of the string to a toy of your choice. Place the toy under the blanket on the floor, leaving only the string exposed. Sit your little one in front of the rope and allow time for curiosity to encourage her/him to take the rope. Encourage your little one to pull the cord and ask them questions like, “What is it? Is it your doll? Pull the string to see what it is! It's a surprise!” (please remove any tape from the toys)

See if your little one tries to pull the rope. Otherwise, model how to do the activity for them.

What Your Child is Learning:  This activity will be helping your little one to control the movements of her/his little hands, while it helps her/him to understand object permanence.
