Teeth brushing - play and fun

It is necessary to start brushing your baby's teeth immediately after the first teeth erupt. In the beginning, you can clean them only with gauze and saline solution, and when the first incisors are fully grown, brush them with a small brush that you put on your finger like a thimble. Clean your baby's teeth at least twice a day without toothpaste (optimally after each meal).

After the first year, start using a small amount of mild baby fluoride paste. It is not harmful even if the child swallows it. The toothbrush should be appropriate to the child's age (soft and small, bristles of equal length, cheerful colors, can also play music).

The more interesting the brush, the more successful the brushing, with a song, play, joking, splashing water and a lot of patience. In fact, it is you who brushes the child's teeth, while the child plays and learns. It is only around the age of three that the child masters this skill, although even then he/she brushes his/her teeth with your help.

The teeth are brushed, one by one, from the gums to the chewing surface, first the tongue-side part of the tooth, then the cheek-side part, then the chewing surface. The brush is held at a slight angle. Teach the child to take water, rinse his/her teeth and spit out the liquid. Don't forget that the tongue must be cleaned as well.

Plan your first visit to the dentist around the sixth month, and by the first birthday at the latest. Then you will receive instructions from the dentist on the proper maintenance of dental hygiene.

The child will get to know his/her dentist and practice through play and fun. Through regular visits without painful interventions, the child will learn that going to the "Dentist" is not a reason for fear and tears. Thus, if a tooth happens to decay, the child will not refuse to go to the dentist. You will have the tooth fixed easily, without pain and on time.

Oral and dental hygiene is very important for the first deciduous teeth, because it is only with hygiene that we can keep them healthy until they fall out and permanent teeth erupt.
