Baby travel accessories

Before packing, make a list of things to take on the trip. In order for your child to be safe, you should transport him/her in a certified and correctly installed car seat, appropriate for the child's age, and buckle the child properly every time.

If you travel by car in the summer, it is best to travel early in the morning, late afternoon or at night; you should avoid the hottest part of the day.

When preparing to go on a trip with your baby, it is necessary to prepare and install sun visors. Depending on the season you travel in, the baby must be dressed in layers and have every possible protection when he/she gets out of the car. Be sure to bring a bag with spare clothes, a blanket, disposable diapers, diaper cream, wet wipes, a few bags for disposing of dirty items and garbage. Keep a travel medical kit at your fingertips.

If the child is two years old and uses a pillow, be sure to bring it.

You may not be able to change the baby in the toilet at stops and parking lots, because there is no space provided, so always carry a changing mat with you that you can easily spread on the car seat to change the baby's diaper. Be sure to use hand sanitizer and a changing mat whenever you put your baby down to change him/her.

If the child eats solid food, be sure to pack it in a portable refrigerator, use a thermos for liquids, bring enough water.

It is often necessary to entertain the child while driving so as not to disturb the driver. Avoid giving hard toys to a child in the vehicle, as they can injure the child when braking. Prepare music, picture books, some games or cartoons. You can talk to slightly older children about what they see outside. Take frequent breaks to rest and take a short walk with your child.

If you are buying a train, bus or plane ticket, always mention the fact that you are traveling with a young child and ask for a reservation for the most convenient seat.
