It is always ok and even justified to be concern and look for information regarding medical issues in general, and specifically regarding vaccines. However, we strongly suggest following information from reliable sources like central health organizations such as the WHO, the European Medical Agency, The American academy of pediatrics etc. The electronic media is flooded with information that a big part of it is without scientific base and sometime even intentionally false and "fake".

It is very important to separate between "temporal association"; When two events happen by co-incidence one after the other to "'cause and effect" association. In many cases when two events happen one after the other, there no reason to believe that the first event caused the second one.

For example, if an earthquake happened 1 day after a loss of the national football team no one would believe that the loss caused the earthquake.  This is just a co-incidence.

This is the case with several bad things that may happen following vaccination: we should remember that many of the genetic and developmental illnesses appear during the first 2 years of life. This is also the time when most of the vaccines are given. It is very tempting to believe that the vaccine caused the illness. However we need to find out if this was a co-incidence or really a cause and effect issue. Therefore many huge epidemiological studies have been done with several methods of investigations and in different countries with different researchers. The overwhelming mass of evidences provides a very reassuring message that vaccines are very safe and do not cause serious diseases.
