Opening Boxes

Materials You Need:  A medium cardboard or plastic box (ideally with a lid); toys of different sizes.

What You Can Do Together: To start this activity, put 5 to 10 toys into the box. Then, give it to your little one and show them how to open the box.

Next, encourage her/him to take the objects out of the box and put them back in. You will see that your little one takes the small toys using only the index and thumb fingers and releases them at will.

It is recommended not to use small objects that your child can fit in their mouth.

What Your Child is Learning:  With this activity, you stimulate not only your child’s fine motor skills but their curiosity as well.
