Pedrina

Materials You Need: Small pebbles/stones and an object safe to throw high and let land, such as a bean bag or tennis ball.

What You Can Do Together: In an open outdoor space get your child/children to gather a handful of small pebbles. Then help them scoop out some soil to form a shallow, circular hole/crater. The aim of the game is to throw the bean bag high in the air and move all the pebbles either into or out of the hole before it hits the ground. Are they fast enough to beat the bag?!

If you aren’t able to carve out a hole in the ground for your game, drawer a circle using chalk – or use a hula hoop instead!

What Your Child is Learning: Pedrina is a popular children’s game from Angola. Very similar to the game Jacks, kids will have lots of fun as they put their speed, coordination and agility to the test.
