Recognizing My Family

Materials You Need:  Photos of various family members; marker or marker pen.

What You Can Do Together: Before starting the activity, prepare the space by laying down a blanket or rug on the floor. You can also set up the activity on your bed. Write the name of each family member on the back of each photo so you can read them easily.

Now sit your baby in the space you prepared. If your little one needs help sitting up, you can use some pillows to give her/him some support. Sit in front of your little one and show her/him the photos, telling her/him the name of the person you show them. Let your little one look at the picture for about 30 seconds while you tell them about that person. After 30 seconds, change photos and follow the same procedure.

Continue with the rest of the photos until your little one loses attention. You can repeat this activity 2 or 3 times a week.

What Your Child is Learning: With this simple activity, your little one will begin to recognize the faces of various family members and strengthen the bond with each one of them.
