Alphabet story

Materials You Need:  None.

What You Can Do Together: The first player comes up with the first word of the story, beginning with the letter ‘A’. The next player come up with the second word of the story, beginning with the letter ‘B’. Players must take it in turns to add a word to the sentence, making sure that the new word starts with the next letter in the alphabet. For example, “Adam began chasing dancing elephants!” Can you make it all the way through from A to Z?

Want to raise the difficulty level? Try working through the alphabet backwards.

What Your Child is Learning: This activity is a brilliant way to test kids on the alphabet. They’ll be having so much fun, they won’t even notice that they’re unsuspectingly working on their literacy skills –– win, win!
