What You Can Do Together: Help your little one to begin to develop her/his vocabulary, communication and language skills with this simple activity.
To carry out this activity, carry your little one in your arms and take a walk around a room, the house or the garden. Talk to them about the things you see on the road or throughout the house. If they see a ball, say “Look at a ball. We can play with a ball!” or “This is a dog-- the dog is called George.”
You can repeat this activity every day as long as your little one is alert. Continue the activity for a while or until you notice that he/she is tired.
What Your Child is Learning: Vocabulary development is of great importance for future reading success and talking to babies allows them to develop vocabulary, communication, language and reading skills more quickly.
