A child as a cyclist
Cycling is one of the healthiest ways to move, it is environmentally friendly and is an indispensable form of recreation that you should not deny to your child of, even if you are not really a fan or can't ride a bicycle. Responsible and conscientious participation in traffic, good working order of the bicycle, use of protective equipment, as well as movement on safe surfaces (bicycle lanes) are the basis of safe cycling.

Teach a child to ride a bicycle
It should be in accordance with the child's wishes and motor abilities. To make learning and cycling as safe as possible, note the following:
- Maintain your child's bicycle properly and regularly.
- The bicycle should be the right one for the child's age.
- Before riding, check that the bicycle has:
- working brakes,
- tires pumped up properly,
- bell,
- reflective light,
- front and rear lights for night riding.
- Every time a child rides a bicycle, he/she should have adequate protective equipment, in particular a bicycle helmet of the appropriate size.
- A child should ride a bicycle only where it is safe, especially on the playground at younger ages, and on bicycle lanes at older ages.
- A child under the age of 12 is not allowed to ride a bicycle on public roads.
- A cyclist over the age of 18 can transport a child up to eight years of age on a bicycle, if a special seat, appropriate for the child's size, is installed on the bicycle and securely attached to it.
