Colourful Scarves

Materials You Need: A brightly coloured scarf or coloured stuffed toy or a colourful article of clothing; Soft surface or baby seat.

What You Can Do Together: To ensure good visual development, you can do many activities. One of them is to follow an object with your eyes.

Before starting, you should prepare the space where you want to play. Make sure you have the coloured scarf on hand and that there are no distractors around.

Lay your baby on a pillow so that he/she is leaning towards you, or you can sit her/him in her/his baby seat. You should sit in front of your baby while holding the brightly coloured scarf.

Move the scarf slowly while talking about the cheerful colours. When you notice that the baby is looking at the scarf, move it from one side to another. You will see how your baby follows the scarf with their eyes.

Play this game frequently, and if you do not have a brightly coloured scarf, you can use a coloured stuffed toy or a colourful article of clothing you have at home.

If you notice that your baby is showing signs of tiredness or boredom, you should stop the game and start a new activity or let them rest.

What Your Child is Learning: Vision neurons begin to form during the first months of life. Activities that stimulate your baby's sight ensure good visual development.
