Exaggerated Singing

What You Can Do Together: Help your little one to improve their ability to hear sounds by preparing them for language acquisition with this simple activity. 

At birth, babies can only see a distance of 20-30 centimetres, so first face your baby from the front at this distance. Get her/his attention and start singing the following song to them. You should do it by exaggerating the movement of the mouth and making the sounds correctly: 

Twinkle, twinkle little star 

 Twinkle, twinkle little star, 

How I wonder what you are. 
Up above the world so high, 
Like a diamond in the sky! 

Twinkle, twinkle little star, 
How I wonder what you are. 

Repeat this activity three times a week, but better if you can alter the songs every day. 

What Your Child is Learning: This exaggerated movement will delight your little one because, at this age, babies need to watch the movement of the mouth and tongue of the people who speak to them as they learn to speak and communicate.
