Exploring Objects

Materials You Need: Cardboard, plastic, or aluminium tray; balls or toys of the size of your child's hands; masking tape.

What You Can Do Together: Before starting, be sure to prepare the place where your little one will carry out the activity. For this activity, your child must be sitting in a chair.

Begin by using tape to stick the toys on the cardboard or the tray, then sit your little one down and place the tray or cardboard in front of her/him. Invite her/him to look at the toys and grab one with their hand. You can model this action to encourage her/him to mimic your movements and help them if it is difficult for them to remove the toy completely (please remove any tape from the toys).

Remember to motivate and congratulate her/him each time he/she manages to take a toy or each time he/she works to remove it.

What Your Child is Learning: With this activity, you will be helping your little one to strengthen the muscles of her/his hands and coordinate her/his movements.
