Going Around
What You Can Do Together: Turning around with your baby will improve her/his awareness of space and develop her/his sense of balance.
To carry out this activity, you should find an open space where there is no danger of tripping or bumping into an object or piece of furniture.
After finding the perfect place, it's time to start. Try spinning your little one in one of the following ways. You can do it differently each time:
- Hold her/him in your arms, supporting her/his head as you spin in circles.
- Hold her/him with her/his back against your body and turn slowly.
- Hold the baby so that her/his face faces yours and turn around.
While you are turning around in different directions, you can sing some lullabies to make the activity more affectionate and intimate.
What Your Child is Learning: Exposing babies to different visual fields and helping them develop their hand-eye coordination and balance will help them with crawling and walking later on.
