A knocked-out tooth
One or more teeth may be knocked out by a blow or a heavy fall, which can cause heavy bleeding from the mouth. The tooth or teeth can be saved by going to the dentist urgently.

What to do?
- Stop the bleeding from the child's mouth by letting him/her bite hard on a piece of clean gauze.
- Carefully lift the knocked-out tooth by holding it by the crown (the whiter part of the tooth).
- You can protect the tooth by wrapping it in a clean cloth moistened with a small amount of the child's saliva or saline, or putting it in a glass with milk, cold water or egg whites.
- Transport the child and the tooth to the dentist as soon as possible!
