Magic Ears
Materials You Need: Rattles, bells, music, maracas.
What You Can Do Together: Place your little one face down on a flat surface and play with toys that make sounds one by one. Shake one of the objects on your child’s right side in a space where they are unable to see the object. This will encourage your child to turn to the side where they hear the sound.
Repeat this exercise for a few minutes, and you can add positive messages to your little one during the activity. You can also take their hands and help them to clap. In this way, your little one can hear the sound that they are producing with their own body.
What Your Child is Learning: The purpose of this activity is to develop hearing through sounds.
