Many Sounds
Materials You Need: Two rattles that emit different sound or two instruments that emit different sound. You can also make your instruments with various jars and bottles, placing stones, seeds, or any object inside.
What You Can Do Together: From the time the babies are born, they are very curious about the objects in their environment. This simple activity can stimulate their curiosity!
To start, lay your little one on her/his back on a soft surface, for instance, her/his crib or the bed. Now sit in front of your little one and choose a rattle, musical instrument or the bottle with pebbles, shake it in front of your little one and continue for a minute, observing how your little one pays attention to the object. Then take the other rattle, instrument or bottle and repeat the action. Finish by shaking both rattles at the same time in front of your little one. Remember to always smile, remain calm and talk to your little one about the sounds that rattles make.
Remember that your little one is delicate, so the sounds should not irritate her/him. You can use other sound-making toys if you don't have rattles with different sounds. It is important that your baby listens carefully to two different sounds.
What Your Child is Learning: This activity will help to stimulate your baby's curiosity which is essential to awakening their desire for learning and improving her/his attention span and auditory perception.
