Choice of baby diapers
The right diaper size is the one that suits the baby's age and weight. The area covered by the diaper should always be washed with water and soap after passing stool. Disposable diapers are the most convenient. They are put on by spreading the diaper and placing it under the baby's bottom, so that the adhesive strips are to the left and right of the waist. Lift the front part of the diaper between the baby's legs, fold it over the genital area, pull out the elastic ruffle around the legs with your fingers, and then fasten the strips on the front part of the diaper. Always check that a finger can be slipped in between the abdomen and the diaper.
Cotton diapers are considered to be healthier and more comfortable to wear; they are less likely to cause diaper rash if they are changed regularly. They are made of 100% natural material that allows the skin to breathe freely. Leak-proof diaper covers are always used with them. Disposable diapers are changed every two to three hours.
There are also bamboo diapers on our market, which are made of bamboo fiber and are resistant to fungi and bacteria. They are suitable for children prone to allergies. They are washed in a washing machine, not ironed, air-dried. When discarded, they decompose in 6 , compared to 100-500 years for disposable diapers.
Diaper rash occurs due to incomplete hygiene during changing, leaving wet diapers on for too long, excessive and improper use of wet wipes, allergies to certain types of food, use of antibiotic therapy. In the case of cotton diapers, the reaction occurs due to insufficiently rinsed detergent and fabric softener, as well as leaving wet diapers on for too long. Diaper rash can be prevented by frequent diaper changes. If a rash occurs in a baby younger than 40 days, if pus and scabs are present along with the rash, if a fever occurs, and the condition does not improve even after 2-3 days, it is necessary to contact a pediatrician.
