One, Two, Three, UP!
Materials You Need: Different toys or attractive objects for the child; sofa or headboard.
What You Can Do Together: Before starting the activity, prepare the space with the toys that will be used. Make sure the room is free from distractions.
Before starting the activity, place the selected toys or objects on the sofa or at the head of your bed. Sit your little one on the couch or bed and draw her/his attention to the toys so they can see them, let her/him crawl toward the objects and try to reach them. When he/she is near the back of the sofa or bed, help your little one to kneel, holding their hips so that your child feels safe and secure. To help them stand up, hold on to their waist for support and encourage them to push their legs down to stand.
Encourage and motivate your little one with each attempt to stand, and at the end of the activity, allow her/him to play with the toys on the bed or couch. Repeat the exercise three times a day.
What Your Child is Learning: This simple activity will help your child to stand up with help, strengthen her/his leg muscles and improve her/his coordination.
