Preparing the supplies and room for bathing

Preparing both the baby and the room and supplies for bathing is an important habit, which makes caring for the baby easier and bathing joyful for the whole family.
Body
  • Newborn babies are usually bathed in the room where they sleep. Avoid bathing the baby while holding him/her over your arm in the bathroom tub.
  • Before bathing, ventilate the room where the baby will bathe and warm it to 24-26 degrees, then wash the bath and your hands before bathing the baby.
  • The water temperature should be between 35 and 37 degrees; check it with a water thermometer.
  • Undress the baby; if the diaper is full, be sure to clean the stool from his/her genitals with a damp cloth diaper or cotton pads.
  • It is advisable to bathe the baby at approximately the same time, usually before bedtime and feeding.
  • Avoid bathing immediately after a meals.
  • You need to prepare the following supplies: bath, hooded towel, bath glove, soap or bubble bath, rinsing cup, clothes to dress the baby, hydrating diaper cream, nail care set, brush and comb, sterile compresses, saline, lotion or body cream.
  • When you have finished bathing, put a towel over the baby (while he/she is above the tub), gently wrap him/her and place him/her on the changing table.
  • Have all the necessary supplies "at hand", because a freshly bathed baby should not be left undressed.
