Rhyme Hour

Materials You Need:  None

What You Can Do Together: To carry out this activity, you only need to lay your little one on her/his back on a soft surface, such as their crib or bed. You can also do this activity when changing a diaper to make the task more fun.

At birth, babies can only see a distance of 20-30 centimetres, so look at your baby from the front from this distance. Start talking sweetly to her/him to get her/his attention. Once you've got their attention, you can recite the following rhyme. You can also recite other nursery rhymes that you know and alternate the rhymes each day or at each diaper change.

Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall!
All the king's horses and all the king's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again!

What Your Child is Learning: This activity will help your little one recognize the origin of sounds, turn her/his head, and respond to other people's language with this cute activity.
