Where Is the Puppet?
Materials You Need: Soft blanket; puppet or doll.
What You Can Do Together: To start this activity, you need to find a place where you and your little one feel comfortable. Lay the blanket on a flat surface.
Place your little one on her/his back on the blanket and tell her/him, “I have a surprise!” to get their attention. Put the puppet on your hand and hide it behind your back.
Take the puppet out from behind your back and say, “Hello, (name of your child)!” then hide the puppet again.
Continue with the game until your little one begins to anticipate that the puppet will leave a specific place. Try to get the puppet to come out of different places, for example, from under your arm, etc. Always place the puppet in front of your little one so that you can capture her/his attention. Now it's your little one's turn. Let her/him play with the puppet and see if he/she tries to imitate you.
What Your Child is Learning: This activity will help your little one's development of attention and stimulate her/his neural connections and visual perception when anticipating when and where the puppet will come out from.
