Smoking is harmful to health

The tobacco "cocktail" contains as many as several thousand chemicals! Hundreds of them are very toxic to the human body, and at least 70 substances fall into the category of carcinogens.

THREE SUBSTANCES from tobacco products stand out in particular:

1. Nicotine - acts on the brain after only a few seconds. It affects blood pressure increase and accelerates the heart rate. It is to "blame" for creating a strong addiction to tobacco!

2. Carbon monoxide - takes the place of oxygen in the transport through the bloodstream and thus reduces the amount of oxygen, which we need for the normal functioning of our tissues and organs.

3. Tar - narrows the small airways in the lungs and further hinders oxygen supply. In addition, it is deposited in the bronchioles and, over time, causes "smoker's cough" and facilitates the development of many lung infections.

Given all of the above, it's no surprise that smoking is a major cause of:

  • lung cancer
  • ischemic heart disease
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

In addition, it greatly contributes to the occurrence of :

  • arteriosclerosis
  • cerebrovascular diseases, including stroke
  • over 20 types and subtypes of malignant diseases (mouth, larynx, esophagus, stomach, bladder, cervix)
  • acute respiratory diseases
  • asthma (as well as its exacerbation!).

Smoking also affects the deterioration of the reproductive potential, i.e. leads to conception difficulties. Over 8 million people die each year from smoking-related consequences.
