Typical child growth: 7-9 months

Infant growth in the second half of the year is somewhat slower, but it is still intense and is strongly influenced by the child`s nutrition and activity.
Body

You have probably noticed that the baby`s growth has slightly slowed down around the fourth month. She continued to grow with the same intensity in this period as well.

  • During this period, breast milk (or infant formula) is not the only food that the child eats and she is gradually getting used to eating other foods of plant and animal origin. On the other hand, she is becoming more active in moving and exploring the environment, which will have a significant impact on growth. Let's just remind ourselves that a child grows while sleeping and that growth also depends on how much time she spends sleeping and what is her sleep like.
  • It is important that the child continues to follow the growth pattern he established during the first weeks of life
  • You may expect that in this period your child will grow 1,5 to 2 cm and gain 300 to 350 g. If the child is smaller and very lively, it will be enough for him to get 200 to 250 g in the ninth month.
  • The brain continues to grow intensively, and the head circumference increases by about 0.5 cm every month.

Every child's growth is unique and it can be only monitored using the standard growth charts and in comparison with standard growth curves
