Baby utensils hygiene

While the baby is young, his/her utensils should be immaculately clean and preferably sterile.
Body

As a baby grows and develops, his/her immune system becomes stronger and stronger, ready to defend against various viruses and bacteria. Sterilization is performed once a day. Before sterilization, utensils should be washed in hot water with baby detergent (or dishwashing detergent), bottles and caps should be cleaned with a bottle brush. Bottle nipples and pacifiers, bottles, breast pumps, milk storage pumps are sterilized according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Three sterilization methods:

  • Sterilization with cold water and chemicals.
  • Steam sterilizers, made specifically for baby bottles, which can be electrical or used in a microwave oven.
  • Boiling - you can sterilize bottles in a larger saucepan or cooking pot; they should first be wrapped in a flat cloth diaper to avoid the accumulation of limescale. Bottles are boiled for 10 minutes, and bottle nipples - for 3-4 minutes.

When the baby starts to sit on his/her own and you start introducing solid food, the baby's tableware (plates, bowls, cups, mugs) should not be sterilized, it is enough to wash them with warm water and mild detergent.

Sterilization wipes are also available on the market; they are completely safe and convenient for traveling with a baby.

It is equally important to continue maintaining hygiene when the child starts eating and drinking by him/herself.
